Fresh & Local: Cape Cod's 10+ Farmers Markets

As fall moves steadily onward toward winter, many area farmers markets are still going strong. If you will be on the Cape, don't miss your chance to enjoy the local products that are offered at these great markets.

Farmers markets on the Cape have many different local vendors, all offering spectacular products that can be traced back to their origins! Whether you are into the Buy Fresh, Buy Local movement or you just like quality food and other products, come check out any of these terrific farmers markets on Cape Cod.

  1. Orleans Farmers Market: Although the Wednesday market is done for the season, residents and visitors alike can still attend the Saturday market which is held from 8am to 12pm through November 22nd. The Orleans market is held right off Old Colony Way.
  2. Harwich Farmers Market: Open on Thursdays from 3pm to 6pm until October 9th (with a Special Sunday Market on October 12th from noon to 3pm), the Harwich Farmers Market is a great stop. It is also held right on the grounds of the Brooks Academy Museum, so take some time to explore Harwich Center!
  3. Bass River Farmers Market, Yarmouth: Held on Thursdays through October 9th and Saturdays through October 11th, the Bass River market is open on those days from 9am to 1:30pm. Directions are on the website.
  4. Mid Cape Farmers Market, Hyannis: If you are close to the Mid-Cape area, check out the Mid Cape Farmers Market on Wednesdays til October 22nd. This market is held on Wednesdays from 2pm to 6pm at 468 Main Street in Hyannis. Some of the vendors accept WIC coupons.
  5. Sandwich Farmers Market: Every Tuesday from 9am to 1pm through October 28th, folks in Sandwich can come to the farmers market there, held on the Village Green off of Route 6A.
  6. Oakcrest Cove Farmers Market, Sandwich: Held on Wednesdays (in case you missed the market on Tuesdays) through October 8th from 8am to noon, this is another great little market. This market is at 34 Quaker Meeting House Road in Sandwich.
  7. Green Harvest Organic Farmers Market, Falmouth: This great Upper Cape market is held in the autumn on Sundays from 12pm to 3pm from October 5th through mid-December. The market is held at the Cape Cod Fairgrounds.
  8. Falmouth Farmers Market: Held at Peg Noonan Park on Main Street in Falmouth until October 9th every Thursday from noon to 6pm, this is a great stop, especially if you are visiting Main Street in Falmouth!
  9. Buzzards Bay Farmers Market: Held on Fridays from 10am to 2pm until October 24th on 70 Main Street in Buzzards Bay, this is a great stop for those in the area.
  10. Nantucket Farmers Market: Held on Saturday mornings from 9am to 1pm through October 11th, this market features nearly 50 vendors and is a good way to support the local growers of Nantucket.
  11. West Tisbury Farmers Market: Held on Saturdays through October 11th from 9am to 12pm, this is a wonderful stop if you are on Martha's Vineyard.
