As of last year, Market Square at 21 Old Colony Road in Orleans became home to several artist cottages. The cottages are right next to the Orleans Farmer's Market, which means that not only can visitors experience wonderful local art, but they can also check out other local offerings. There were 3 cottages last year, but this year there are now 8 because of the popularity of the idea.

The cottages are rented by various artists throughout the season as an affordable venue to display and sell their art. Artists who work in all sorts of different media are welcomed to rent one of the cottages.

The hours for the cottages are weekends (Saturday and Sunday) in June, from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sunday. In season (July and August) the cottages will be open from 11am to 7pm Wednesday through Sunday, although on Saturdays, artists can open their cottages as early as 9am to coincide with the farmers market.
